What is a Carer ID Card?
A Carer ID Card is a form of recognition for individuals who provide care and support to others. This can include both paid carers and unpaid carers, such as family members supporting loved ones.
The card is issued by recognised national or local organisations and helps confirm your role as a carer when accessing certain services or support.
Why is a Carer ID Important?
Many carers do incredible work behind the scenes. Having a Carer ID card can:
• Provide recognition of your caring role
• Help identify you in emergency situations
• Support access to certain discounts or services (where available)
• Strengthen your voice when engaging with support organisations
It is not a legal licence, but it can be a helpful form of identification.
Who Can Apply?
You may be eligible if you are:
• An unpaid family carer
• A parent carer
• A professional or paid carer
• Someone regularly supporting a vulnerable person
Eligibility depends on the issuing organisation.
How to Apply
CarersMind CIC does not issue Carer ID cards directly.
However, we signpost carers to recognised national providers where you can apply safely and directly.
